Hippoduct d'Avoine
Paris
2012

Hippoduct d’Avoine has been designed in response to the call for a new contemporary bridge for Paris, an ideas competition run by Arch Truimph.  The scheme was submitted as STUDIO DA, the name under which RUSSIAN FOR FISH and Pierre d’Avoine Architects collaborate.

Paris has a long tradition of equestrianism and is surrounded by the race courses of Auteuil, Chantilly, Maisons-Lafitte, St Cloud and Longchamp.

The new bridge is proposed on the scale of a Roman aqueduct. Instead of an aqueduct we propose Hippoduct d’Avoine, a multi tiered structure for promenading and horse riding stretching 2500 metres along the southern edge of the Bois de Boulogne connecting the race courses of Auteuil and Longchamp and bridging the Seine to the west to provide views of St Cloud.
