The semi detached property had an existing rear conservatory and detached garage.  The conservatory was demolished and replaced with a deeper rear extension connecting to the converted garage.  The alterations provided additional living space, a larger kitchen and studio overlooking a paved courtyard and garden.

The zinc cladding allows the extension to be read as a singular form, which contrasts with the more traditional materials of the house, while the pale interior provides a subtle backdrop to the verdant garden.
